About me…

I’m Andrew Barrett, and I've personally navigated the complexities of international relocation with my wife, three children, pets, and furniture, moving between the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

Having bought property from overseas and rented sight unseen, I deeply understand the risks of not having an independent advocate on the ground. Moving your family to a new country is a significant undertaking, and you want to ensure a smooth transition.

I can be your trusted eyes and ears, guiding you through suburbs, schools, and communities, and providing independent property viewings. With my background in property development and a license under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, I offer unbiased appraisals and can attend auctions on your behalf.

With 17 years experience living in New Zealand, I can guide you through the locations, and provide an honest, independent assessment based on your needs.

My office is based in Auckland’s centre at Barfoot & Thompson’s city branch. I specialise in helping people find their perfect home on the beautiful Waiheke Island.

New Zealand's "Golden Visa" is officially known as the Active Investor Plus Visa. The Active Investor Plus visa presents a compelling opportunity for discerning investors seeking a new home for their capital and their families. This program is not just a visa; it's a strategic pathway to a dynamic, secure, and prosperous future in New Zealand.

Investment Categories: The previous Investor 1 and Investor 2 visa categories have been replaced with two simplified categories:

Growth category: Requires a minimum investment of NZD $5 million for a minimum period of 3 years. This category focuses on higher-risk investments, including managed funds and direct investments in New Zealand businesses.
Balanced category: Requires a minimum investment of NZD $10 million over 5 years. This category offers a broader range of investment options, including bonds and property investments (specifically new residential developments that increase housing stock, and new or existing commercial/industrial developments). Growth category investments can also be included.

Pathway to Citizenship: The Active Investor Plus Visa is a direct pathway to residency, and after holding the visa for the required investment period, you can apply for permanent residency. Permanent residency is not required for citizenship, but generally, you can apply after living in New Zealand for five years as a resident.
